Skyler Groen grew up in Algona, Iowa, and stayed in-state for both his bachelor's and master's degrees in Accounting at Iowa State University — graduating in 2023 with a Tax specialization and earning his CPA shortly after.
He started his career in audit at Deloitte, then landed at RSM US LLP, where he prepared returns across construction, auto dealerships, agriculture, financial institutions, high-net-worth individuals, and everyday working families. He now serves as Controller at McAninch Corporation — a 100% employee-owned ESOP — and runs Groen, CPA LLC on the side.
Outside the office, Skyler and his wife Madelyn are raising their daughter Clare and son Joseph. He is an active parishioner at the Basilica of St. John in Des Moines.
